Competitor Stories – Stuart Huke

A regular look at some of the inspirational stories from some of our amazing DB Maxers……

This week it’s Stuart Huke who took part in the Westonbirt House Easter 10k with us.

‘Running is not something that comes naturally to me, but I do what I can to raise money for my charity JDRF (Juvenile Diabetics Research Foundation). I support JDRF as they do amazing research into finding a cure for Type 1  Diabetes, a condition my son Oliver developed at just four years old. He is now insulin dependant and the daily struggles he has to live with make me so proud in how he copes with injections, the constant monitoring of his blood sugar levels and worry about everything he eats. He is now 10 and is doing brilliantly and a lot of that is thanks to the advances in technology and coping mechanisms that JDRF play a large part in introducing through their research. So here’s to another 10k at the beautiful Westonbirt to raise more important funds, thanks to all that have supported me!’
