Event Details:
The Bradford on Avon Olympic Triathlon received rave reviews in its first year and is back for 2012.
The event is set in the beautiful, historic town in Wiltshire and the 1500m river swim takes place in the River Avon. The 40k bike is a technical and scenic hilly route around the surrounding villages and the 10k run a fast, ‘out and back’ run along the canal tow path.
The event will again link up with the local town to add a festival feeling to the weekend.

Race Distance
Triathlon: 1500m open water swim (river swim), 40k bike, 10k run (out and back flat run).
Race Start
Wave starts from 8:00 to 9:00.

Online entry price: £45 BTF, £48 Unnattached.
Venue
• Barton Farm Country Park.
Barton Farm Country Park is well sign posted and is located off the B3109 on the edge of the historic town of Bradford on Avon. Ample parking is available at the nearby railway station (postcode BA15 1DF).
Registration & Briefing Instructions
Registration Times: Sunday 6:45 to 7:45.
Briefing Time: 7:50.
Race numbers and timing chips will be collected in your race envelope from the registration desk on race day. Do not open an envelope unless it has your name on it. Attach your timing chip to your ankle immediately after opening your envelope. Details of allocated bib numbers will be available online prior to the event and will also be displayed in the registration area at the venue. You do not receive anything by post.
BTF members must show a valid BTF licence at registration or purchase day insurance (£3).
Competitors must attend the race briefing on the day. Information on the course and rules relative to competitor safety will be outlined, as well as important BTF information. Please also take the time to read the BTF Rules.
Competitors may not race with somebody else’s number.
Timing Transponders
Please attach the timing transponder (MYLAPS ProChip) firmly to your left ankle with the strap provided (chip fitting instructions). This will ensure that all finish results (as well as splits and lap times) are collected by the system. Timing chips will be collected in the finish funnel or marquee immediately at the end of the race.
Please return your timing chip as soon as you finish (even if you do not complete your race). Lost and unreturned timing chips will be invoiced at £75 each.
Water Quality
The section of river used for this event is tested regularly and meets BTF requirements as well as Government Bathing Regulations (achieving excellent quality standards for both enterococci and E.coli).

Adult races are non-drafting and will be policed by our BTF motorbike referee. Please do not draft and please race fairly according to the BTF Rules. Please note, there is a Foot Down and Stop junction on the bike route.
Please attach your bib number to your front while racing so that it can be clearly seen. Race belts may also be used and will be available to purchase from the expo shop on the day. Bib numbers cannot be folded.
